It feels TOO decadent to be here.

The move went fast:
12 friends + 1 moving truck + Everything already packed before people arrived = 40 mintues to empty apartment!!!

Started at 10:00 am and was completely moved (including picked up stuff from storgae at D's mom's house) and had lunch by 2:00 pm. I think it was the quickest move ever.

We are very lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives. Big Thanx to all!

We have a mountain of boxes to go through but it's great! Finding a bathtub that my Tall honey can fit into is amazing!!! Lots of cupboards and closets and a basement to put our stuff into. It's crazy to have space.

So, when people come into town; we have space to have you crash at! Come on over! We'll fire the grill up and roast some weenies and drink lots o' wine! ;)

URGENT BORDER SKIRMISH V - CANCELLED!

Greetings to the loyal friends of the Griffon and Dragon,

It is with a heavy heart that the Autocrats of Border Skirmish V, set to
start today and run through Sunday, inform you that the event is cancelled
due to heavy rains last night at the campsite. There is between 2-4 inches
of standing water all over the fields. We were hoping that the weather
would hold and the event could continue as planned but Mother Nature has
decided against that. The skirmish between the Kingdoms of Northshield and
the Midrealm has been put on hold for our lands to dry from the wet. We are
sorry for the last minute notice to you all.

We ask the populace of the Known World to help spread the word of the event
being cancelled to as many lists as we can.

We are hoping to reschedule the Border Skirmish event for a later time in
the summer/fall. We will send correspondence in regards to a new date as
soon as we can.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you at Border Skirmish V
later in the year. If anyone has any questions either of the autocrats would
be happy to help you. Their contact info is below:

Mistress Tatiana Marana Melville
262-513-1271 (h) 262-879-2809 (w-Fri 8:30-2:30p)
tatianam@ameritech.net

Baroness Kristiana of Arden
847-921-6229
kristianaofarden@hotmail.com

Yours in Service,

The Autocrats of Border Skirmish V

Well the last of the elementary/high school D&D group got hitched this weekend. Mark and Claire finally made the trip down the ailes. Claire looked beautiful. Her aunt made her gown and there's a lot of family history in that gown. Mark looked just as handsome as always. It was nice to be a part of it. The weather for the wedding was nice and warm/hot. I've attached pictures in my LJ gallery. My honey looked so *nice*.

The wedding cake was a mountain; since that is where he asked her to marry him. It was super cool and very yummy. I am not much of a cake person and it was great! Claire's sister found the cake topper at REI. The flag on top of it says "just married". It was perfect.

Cheers to Mark and Claire!

Everytime we kept looking we compared all houses to this one. It's a great house and we are so excited to get to live there. Granted it will be a longer commute for my honey-pie but the roads to and from will be easier with traffic. My drive will be 5 mintues. I'm thinking of buying a bike to make the trips in the spring-fall. It's built in 2002; so no major issues like a new roof needed! YEA!!

The house is located in Waukegan/Gurnee. Nice development with youn families.

I have posted pics of it in my scrapbook.

This place will give us the space and stroage we alwyas wanted. Finally, we can get our stuff out of my parent's home in MN and his mom's place. I'll have a workshop (need to get tool bench) and sewing room.

Projects galore to come!

Thanks for all the advice about buying a home.
These past three weeks have been great, tense, crappy, fun, relaxing, stressed, sick and incredible. What more can life offer?

Our trip to FL was nice and fun. I wish we had more time down there together but his conference went well. Lots of drinking...glad my liver is getting dried out :)

Directly after FL, D had his *BIG* interview for a promotion at work. He's been stressed about this and we worked on questioning and getting his attire up to date. He made it through the first round and had the second round this past Thursday. He didn't feel well on top of this added stress and hasn't much gotten sleep. My poor baby. I hate when he gets sick; which is hardly ever. Friday morning he goes to the doctor and heads to work for a meeting. Before the meeting, his boss calls him in and says: "Congrats, you are now the Assistant to the Village Administrator!" I think my poor honey was shocked, bewildered and releived all at the same time.

He starts....Monday! *eeeeek*!!!!

Me: work is crazy busy with fundraisers, planning a wine tasting, multiple grants to write and meetings to attend. It's hard in this economic slow down to raise funds for a non-profit. Most of my events have fallen *just below* where I had hoped them to be. So, more grant writing to cover lost costs. SO IF YOU HAVE LOTS OF MONEY AND NEED TO DONTE IT....CALL ME!!!!!! :) I love my job but I take the lost of funds personally and it need to get into the mind set of being more positive.

Looked at more houses this weekend and each house we see; we compare to the one we really *like*! This morning we saw a house to which the backyard buts up to the *liked* house. We think this is a sign to where the house gods are saying "buy this house or suffer our wrath"! We could be relocating during the summer...more stress! This leaves lots of thing hanging in our SCA lives......

We seem to be on an SCA slow down; due to travel, weddings, and house hunting. I think Crown tourney will be our next event. We are entered and I need to get cracking on new garb for himself and me. My sewing machine doesn't like me right now and need to get her in to be fixed....ugh!

I need more time to get things ready...but there never seems to be enough hours in the day.....
Our realtor is wonderful and did a lot of sending properties and research before hand to eliminate the ones we didn't want to bother to see.

On Sunday, we took D's mom to look at the top two and feel perhaps we need to keep looking at more so we don't take the first one we love. She gave of us her thoughts about things we didn't take into account. Our lease is up soon and with our weekend crammed with SCA, personal and work stuff; we need to seize the day and look at new possiblilites.

I am *very* nervouse about this, it's a HUGE thing and just want to make sure its a good experience. We tried this buying a house thing three years ago and we weren't ready and we felt really rushed. It was a stressful time (wedding coming-up, family issues, etc) and I hope that this time is much better.... I was very disappointed to end that search but it was probably the best thing for us at that time. This time, I am trying not to tie all my emotions into this process but I feel myself slipping and getting fearful of the process.

There are lots of places/areas we are looking at. Mainly in Lake County but a couple are in Cook County. We'd like to be closer to D's job and help with the distance thing. We've been pre-approved for a loan so that's one thing off the checklist. I need space to work on SCA projects, no more apartment life, and space to grow as a family with the man.

Wish us luck and have a great weekend.

We have a team started and are getting geared up to bowl like mad fiends – in medieval garb! Bowling is period! I think some of my shiremates will be joining me and D this weekend to have fun and maybe we'll get some interest from the public!

Every dollar that you contribute will stay right here in Lake County to help our children. All gifts are 100% tax deductible.
